Ideal for development and prototyping, the CES821 can serve as a customizable standalone lab instrument or a deployed embedded solution for data acquisition, signal processing, communication, and more. The CES821 is an evolution of the CES820 Compact Embedded System which integrates an Intel Atom Processor, Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale FPGA, and I/O into a low Size Weight and Power (SWaP) system.
The CES821 is a taller configuration than the CES820 that takes advantage of 4DSP FMC Stacking technology using the FMC116 and FMC216. The FMC electrical standard is specified by VITA 57.1 and allows for both highspeed serial with Multi-Gigabit Transceiver I/O and parallel digital I/O as single ended or differential. Many 4DSP FMCs do not require all 80 LVDS pairs or the 10 high speed serial lanes defined within VITA 57.1, thus these unused resources are passed to the top side of the board and allow system designers to stack more than one FMC on a single site.
The CES821 is preconfigured with the FMC116 and FMC216 with sixteen A/D and sixteen D/A channels. A conduction cooled variant for ruggedized applications is also available.
